Monday, 11-24 - 2.5 Miles (Trail) - Stenger Farm, Waterford. Had to renew my driver's license today at AAA, and happened to pass a small park, that looked like it had a trail map posted. I got my new card, and went to check it out. Small preserve and not super well marked, but some fun single track, and a half-mile dirt oval track (?), which would have been really interesting if it were dry...
Tuesday, 11-25 - 0 Miles.
Wednesday, 11-26 - 0 Miles.
Thursday, 11-27 - 7.8 Miles (Road/Trail) - Birthday/Thanksgiving run from the house. Lori and Soph gave me all run-related gear for my birthday, and the family hooked me up with gift cards to Dick's and Kelley's Pace, so I'm all set for the season with stuff. I'm also going to be stepping away from NB shoes for a bit, as their last couple of pairs were disappointing. New shoes? Salomon Speedcross 3:
Looking forward to trying these!
Today? More exploratory runs into Pachaug, connecting more dots on the unmarked forest trails. Looks like I was less than 100 yards from the Narragansett Trail near the Bullet Ledge/High Ledge area when I turned around, so I know I can connect that around the lake. I also hit the connector trail on the way back to the end of my street, which gives me even more room to create new routes! And I took back a segment on Wyassup while I was there, so Happy Birthday to me! Then went and stuffed myself silly for Thanksgiving :)
Friday, 11-28 - 0.
Saturday, 11-29 - 0.
Sunday, 11-30 - 8.5 Miles (Trail/Road) - Wyassup Lake loop with Mike B. Set out from my place at 7:15, and made our way up Fowler road and into Pachaug, and ran unmarked service roads/trails until we connected with the Narragansett. Followed it down through Bullet Ledge/High Ledge to the boat launch, then looped around the lake on roads to more unmarked trail. Finished up by crossing a field, climbing through some barbed wire (we only trespassed a little bit), and running the last mile on my street. Great morning, great weather, and some good climbs!
